A disruption to the brain’s typical neuronal activity. There are many different causes, types, and levels of severity when it comes to brain injuries. Brain injuries can be caused by a range of events including trauma to the head, a tumor, hemorrhages, or even a stroke, and are categorized as traumatic or non-traumatic accordingly. Brain injuries can also be classified according to severity, such as mild, moderate, or severe, as well as by the type of injury, either diffuse or penetrating.
